I live down south in Keystone Heights, Florida, I certainly enjoy the small city vibe, my giant plot of land, and being on the water, and my entire family lives up north in Jacksonville.
It is only about an hour’s drive but it isn’t fun to do, then when my parents passed and all the assets were divided up, I ended up getting a few of their rental properties in Jax. My brother didn’t want the rental properties despite the fact that he lived right in the area. I didn’t want to manage rentals or make the drive. I knew I really could have gotten more money if I had listed the properties with a real estate agent. I knew I would need to drive there to meet them. I would need to make replacements, pay for staging, pictures, closing costs, and the real estate agent fees, then no thank you on that part. My pal and I genuinely did not even meet in person. I did it all on video call, signed papers online, and then got my checks in the mail. It was all done and easy. I was certainly glad that I was able to stay in my Keystone house and not have to make the trip a bunch during this difficult time.
